Snow Sunsets

“How beautiful and perfect is this couple together! Earth is kissed with snow and the sunset beams its approval in stunning colors of the rainbow in electronic hues! Climbing a mountain, withstanding freezing and windy temps make it all worthwhile when the delight of our eyes is such a sight! The tree lifts itself to the heavens for more snow kisses and glory to quench its thirst with promises of days to come of its natural beauty in leaf. If I could, I would put a swing there and swing until spring arrives.”_jacyjoypals

For Love of Tulip Art

Spring is just around the corner now and the winds are blowing in its beauties as we see flowers begin to peek out of the ground. As we return home after travel, we are reminded by these beauties that there is surely is no place like home.  Our Art on Canvas series of florals in HDR (“Oh So Pulchritudinous”) features our own Promise Gardens and florals from gardens in the US and abroad. Tulips are design favorites and whether in HDR, DRI or as shot, they make beautiful pieces of art on canvas, metal and display beautifully in galleries.  If you love florals, gardens and landscapes, visit the Biltmore Estate for their Festival of Flowers and other flower shows and create beautiful photographic art!*

Gone were but the Winter,
Come were but the Spring,
I would go to a covert
Where the birds sing;

Where in the white-thorn
Singeth a thrush,
And a robin sings
In the holly-bush.

Full of fresh scents
Are the budding boughs,
Arching high over
A cool green house:

Full of sweet scents,
And whispering air
Which sayeth softly:
“We spread no snare;

“Here dwell in safety,
Here dwell alone,
With a clear stream
And a mossy stone.
__Christina G. Rossetti

Reaching For the Heavens

This morning was another one of those extremely beautiful sunrises.  The snow had fallen overnight and clung to the trees and again takes the breath away.  We often see beautiful sunrise-sunsets here in the Valley so I am re-sharing one of our favorites and has become a favorite print for many of our friends.

The amazing and beautiful sunrise of winter coupled with snow and special lens makes one want the cold winter to linger. It’s enough to make one wax poetic!

Morning Snow Sunrise

~ ~ ~
HOW clear, how keen, how marvellously bright
The effluence from yon distant mountain’s head,
Which, strewn with snow smooth as the sky can shed,
Shines like another sun–on mortal sight
Uprisen, as if to check approaching Night,
And all her twinkling stars. Who now would tread,
If so he might, yon mountain’s glittering head–
Terrestrial, but a surface, by the flight
Of sad mortality’s earth-sullying wing,
Unswept, unstained? Nor shall the aerial Powers
Dissolve that beauty, destined to endure,
White, radiant, spotless, exquisitely pure,
Through all vicissitudes, till genial Spring
Has filled the laughing vales with welcome flowers.
William Wordsworth
