Melting Blues of Amelia Island

Melting blues and greens of ocean sunrise at Amelia Island. These truly beautiful colors creating a mood of serenity and promise of warmth and a day of sunshine for frolicking on the beach and enjoying the ocean. Capturing the amazing colors of the sunrise, in all of its hues, is a favorite for this photographer. Photographing sunrise in HDR/DRI bracketed allows for an abundance of color and light capture which is the best for sunrise-sunset. Capture the hues, capture the light! This is another image in our “Waterscapes Art on Canvas” from the “Ocean Phototour.” @jacyjoypals for @HDRCHIC

Blue Lake Sunrise

~ ~ ~
THE sylvan slopes with corn-clad fields
Are hung, as if with golden shields,
Bright trophies of the sun!
Like a fair sister of the sky,
Unruffled doth the blue lake lie,
The mountains looking on.

And, sooth to say, yon vocal grove,
Albeit uninspired by love,
By love untaught to ring,
May well afford to mortal ear
An impulse more profoundly dear
Than music of the Spring.

For ‘that’ from turbulence and heat
Proceeds, from some uneasy seat
In nature’s struggling frame,
Some region of impatient life:
And jealousy, and quivering strife,
Therein a portion claim.

This, this is holy;–while I hear
These vespers of another year,
This hymn of thanks and praise,
My spirit seems to mount above
The anxieties of human love,
And earth’s precarious days.

But list!–though winter storms be nigh,
Unchecked is that soft harmony:
There lives Who can provide
For all his creatures; and in Him,
Even like the radiant Seraphim,
These choristers confide.

Blue Hour at Christmastime

A revisit to Christmas Blue Hour.  Christmastime is here at last, a favorite time of the year for faith, family, food, festivities and of course, beautiful decorations of light and color, snow sledding, skating and enjoying the season.  It is a delightful time for photographers to capture the beauty in HDR.  As we embark on our Christmas Photo Tour, we share a favorite from our Greenbrier Photo Shoot:

* * *

Beautiful in Blue, The Greenbrier Resort glorious in color, lights and couple that with the “blue hour” and “snow’ — a recipe for pure delight to the eyes!  A week at Greenbrier on combination photoshoot and holiday adventure offered a plethora of wonderful delights for our HDR photography.  We trekked the estate at 12 degrees and six inches of snow to photograph the lights and decorations filling cards to the hilt until we were frozen and on return were rewarded with a cozy place in front of the fireplace with super-delish hot chocolate, warm cookies and a glorious concert!  It was a  truly a magical Christmas holiday adventure!

The Greenbrier is an award-winning resort located in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. As a National Historic landmark, The Greenbrier Resort’s classic architecture, exquisite interior design, carefully sculpted landscape, impeccable service and outstanding amenities have hosted distinguished guests from around the world since 1778.
