Spring Comes Again to Biltmore Estate Gardens

Time is flying by and it will soon be spring and travel to our favorite spring places. This year we are adding the ocean to our travel itinerary as well as our number one destination the amazing Biltmore Estate and Gardens. This historical place is a photographer’s dream from the beautiful architecture to the landscapes with the Blue Ridge mountains as a backdrop to the Conservatory, winery, equestrian center and more. Our favorite, the “Blooms” (Festival of Flowers) each year is a must-do for floral and landscape photographers. The Biltmore is very hospitable to photographers and encourage you to photograph the grounds and gardens. There are so many opportunities for photography, not only for the professional photographer but for all photographers and visitors. Take advantage of the beauty at Biltmore.

My City – Washington DC

On Friday, January 20, 2017 our new President of the United States Donald J. Trump will take the oath of office at the Capitol. This is an earlier post showcasing our beautiful city from our Washington DC Photo Walk.

If you love beautiful architecture and history then Washington DC is the place to be for photography. We are native Washingtonians and no matter how many times we think we have photographed it all, we are reminded that we have just “tipped the iceberg” in shooting this amazing city. We have enjoyed many photo walks from our first photo walk and assignment in college until today. It’s beauty is unsurpassed in our estimation. Our next adventure will occur in September/October with photo walks at sunrise-sunset in well-known and “so-called” secret locations. They will be fabulous photo walks and with the incredible restaurants, hotels, history and people in DC, just the best life has to offer for photographers.

This favorite image of the United States Capitol from one of our photowalks is my current timeline image. It was shot in full-daylight with blazing sun, which, in DC, is a good time for the beauty of the alabaster to glow in its light. It is truly a “shining City on a Hill”!

Spring is Coming: The Extraordinary Biltmore Estate

As the cold, snow and ice fill the air in the North East, we are again planning our spring travel itinerary and number one on our list every year is the amazing Biltmore Estate and Gardens. This historical place is a photographer’s dream from the beautiful architecture to the landscapes with the Blue Ridge mountains as a backdrop to the Conservatory, winery, equestrian center and more. Christmas at Biltmore offers even more and our favorite, the Festival of Flowers is a must-do for floral and landscape photographers. The Biltmore is very hospitable to photographers.

These images were photographed in HDR in daylight between rain and storms which enhanced the colors for daytime images. They are in storyboard form and compressed here for purposes of smaller files for viewing.
